Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough
  • 70g sliced brie cheese
  • 2-3 slices of cooked, crispy bacon
  • 2 slices of ripe tomato
  • 1 tbsp Ladismith Spreado
  • ½ clove garlic, crushed
  • Chives & parsley herbs
  • Optional additions: fresh basil leaves & rocket

Method

  • Prepare the infused butter: In a small bowl, mix the Ladismith Spreado butter with the crushed garlic and herbs.
  • Assemble the sandwich:
    • Spread a thin layer of the infused butter on one side of each slice of bread.
    • On the unbuttered side of one slice, layer the brie cheese, tomato slices, and crispy bacon. If using, add optional basil or rocket – to add now as well.
    • Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side facing outward to form the sandwich.
  • Cook the sandwich:
    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
    • Place the sandwich in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown and toasted.
    • Carefully flip the sandwich and continue cooking on the other side until it is also golden brown and the brie is melted and gooey, another 3-4 minutes.
    • Using a lid can help the cheese melt faster.
  • Serve
